Kōan Café : 10:30am -12:30pm

Come explore traditional Zen kōans in a non-traditional way through seriously playful community sharing. Melissa Rōshi and David Rōshi will guide you through the exploration of individual kōans, using meditation, free association, and group dialogue. Kōan cafe practice helps to illuminate these ancient and often enigmatic stories and clarify what it means to be alive and free as human beings. Everyone is welcome: prior experience working with kōans is not necessary.

Afternoon Retreat : 1:30-3:30pm
This two-hour retreat will be an opportunity to practice meditation (zazen) in community. Melissa Rōshi and David Rōshi will offer optional individual meetings (dokusan) throughout the practice period.
No registration is required to attend only the Afternoon Retreat. Join using the Temple Zoom link
The Afternoon Retreat is free to participants in the morning kōan café.
