BOUNDLESS WAY TEMPLE MISSION

Our mission is to support the purposes and practices of Boundless Way Zen through sustaining a dedicated site for:

• residential Zen retreats
• training and special events
• daily practice

The Temple is guided by our resident transmitted teachers: Melissa Myozen Blacker Roshi and Abbot David Dae An Rynick Roshi. We are a non-profit religious organization governed by an elected Leadership Council.

Our Vision

We have created the Boundless Way Temple organization in order to move toward our vision to:

• Purchase the property at 1030 Pleasant Street so it remains a place of Zen practice in perpetuity
• Make appropriate upgrades to the building to better serve sesshin and training needs of BoWZ
• Support the presence and teaching of our resident teachers

The daily operations and projects of the Temple are made possible through financial donations from members, friends and visitors. Your pledge and contributions pay for our ongoing expenses such as occupancy, utilities, supplies, and our contribution in support of our parent organization, Boundless Way Zen.

Membership

We invite you to join in our mission and deepen your personal engagement in Boundless Way Temple activities through becoming a Temple member. The primary benefit of membership is the opportunity to make a meaningful, personal contribution to our sangha life. Each member will be able to vote at the Temple Annual Meeting. You will automatically become an associate (non-voting) member of Boundless Way Zen. Members will be given priority registration and discounted fees at selected Temple events.

Joining the Temple

Becoming a member or a supporting friend is simple: fill out a membership application form and send it to the Temple or give it to one of our practice leaders. On the application, you will be asked to choose a membership/friend level, and to specify your donation and how your will pay (monthly, quarterly or annually). Membership is open to all, regardless of the level of your financial contribution. Your membership application will be reviewed by the Temple Leadership Council and you will be notified upon your acceptance. Members are required to fill out a pledge form annually and are expected to fulfill their pledge as well as participate in the ongoing life and purposes of the Temple. Membership and pledges are renewed each year in November. Your membership application includes a section in which you can let us know how you would prefer to support the Temple in addition to your financial contribution.

Membership Levels

The following suggested amounts of member giving are intended to provide general guidelines. *

• Student/Senior $20 – $35 per month
• Individual $40 – $100 per month
• Family (2 or more individuals) $60 – $140 per month
• Sustainer $140 – 3% of income per month
• Friend Any amount (A Friend is an associate (non-voting) member who wishes to support the Temple’s mission.)

Make checks payable to ‘Boundless Way Temple.’ We are a 501c3 religious organization and membership contributions are tax-deductible. Please give your completed membership application to a practice leader or send it to the Temple. If your checking account supports online banking, you can automate your payment, by setting up Boundless Way Temple as payee with a recurring payment.
