The Heart of Buddhist Teachings for Zen Students

You are warmly invited to join Melissa Roshi and David Roshi to explore the roots of Zen practice as taught in early Buddhist texts on the Four Foundations of Mindfulness.  How can these ancient teachings support and deepen our practice of paying attention moment after moment, in our daily lives and in our formal Zen practice? What does mindfulness mean anyway? Using guided meditations, talks, text exploration, and group dialogue, we will explore the Zen perspective on these important basic Buddhist teachings.
In the afternoon settle in for two hours of silent Zen practice, including sitting, walking, chanting, and individual meetings with a teacher (dokusan).
